Bradley and Wilson

Yes, they are brothers.  Both pictures are of the boys when they are 5 months old.  They definitely have the same eyes...but I don't see such a similarity that I can say that Wilson looks like Bradley.

Big Ol' Smiles!

Wilson's smile lights up a room.  He makes Anson and I feel like we are the most special people in the world.  Love this lil' guy!

Now that we have a high chair for him, meal time is much easier.  He loves to eat!!

This is the smile I get from Wilson in the morning and when I wake him from nap- it just warms my heart!

Exersaucing

Wilson loves his exersaucer! He can fit the entire seal head in his mouth, is great at pulling out all the toys (you know, the ones secured down for them to play with), and that squishy orange monkey must taste good because it is always in his mouth.

Playing together

Bradley is playing, lovingly, with Wilson.  Bradley really is a great brother...

Where's Bradley

Bradley loves to hide behind our curtains...
and I love that he is still young enough to think it's super adorable!

A Blessed Day!

This morning Dr.Ron Matthews baptized Wilson into the Christian faith. God blessed us with wonderful family and friends who joined us in baptizing Wilson, promising to hold us as parents accountable for raising Wilson in a Godly manner. The service was flawless (minus the fact that the baptism well was not there at the beginning of the service). Wilson behaved, Bradley behaved (again..minus the fact that he found a random thread on my dress that he decided to pull on during the five minutes on stage...).

Anson read two verses that are our prayer for Wilson. On this Baptism day, we pray the words from 1 Samuel 1:27-28 "I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD.” And he worshipped the LORD there." As Wilson continues to grow in his faith, we charge him with these words from 2Timothy 3:14-15 "But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it,and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."

Bradley's Box

Not only does this box act as a wonderful TV viewing chair, it also doubles as a delivery box, something Bradley is just loving these days.  Most days this box is filled with various toys, pushed to the front door and left there for the delivery man to pick up. "Mommy...this is for the delivery man to pick up and he will delivery the package to all the people".  Pretend play is just adorable!

FINALLY!

Wilson has been salavating for weeks anytime we are eating anything! I have been doing lots of reading, and the Acadamey of Peds is now recommending for infants to be exclusively breastfed (or formula fed) for 6 months...not between 4 and 6 months. AHH!! But, the Committee of Nutrition still states between 4-6 months. So confusin, so conflicting. But...MOMSense KICKED IN! After much debate (in my head) we (I) decided to finally feed him...he was very thankful! He gobbles down his cereal like a pro- I think he will be a lover of food....we shall see!

Elk Neck Camping Trip

Labor Day weekend, in our family, means a fun weekend of camping with really great friends! This year we went to Elk Neck State Park in Maryland. We "hiked" to the lighthouse, attempted to go on a leaf exploration, and just had fun running around the camp ground. Bradley especially liked helping Anson do the dishes in the neat camping portable sink. We always look forward to these weekends...a time away from all the hustle and bustle to just relax and enjoy what God has given to us in this world- beautiful land and great friends!

"Gobbles"

Bradley thought this was so funny- it's a car for Wilson's tummy-time mat that he turned upside down and put on Wilson's face. He (very adorably) calls them Wilson's "gobbles".

Mr. Snow

This morning Bradley asked to make a snowman...a little out of season, but what they hay! Here is his creation!

Luau at Summer Camp

Today Bradley participated in a Luau at summer camp. He really enjoyed doing the hula...and learning a new word "aloha". He made a grass skirt and a hibiscus necklace to celebrate all that is Hawaii!

The Battle Not Worth Fighting

Posted by Picasa

So last night (after a long day, and little nap) Bradley wanted to sleep on his cozy chair in his bedroom. Knowing what reaction we'd get if we said no, we opted to say yes, and transferred him into his bed after he was asleep.

Art Class

Today was not only an Art Class...but a tasting class, too. We made a marshmallow "sculpture"....lucky enough for me, there were a few extra marshmallows that weren't needed for my masterpiece so I was able to enjoy them for a pre-lunch snack.

The picture on the upper right is a "yarn sculpture" made of, you guessed it, yarn...and a glue-concoction. The glue on my hands was slimy and gross, but that I did not mind as much as the yarn not dismounting from my hands when I was (clearly) telling it to "get off"! Thankfully, there was a large bucket of water where I could show of my thorough hand-washing skills.

You'll see three hand-prints on the paper in the bottom-left picture. No...I didn't grow a hand. My mom thought one more hand may just make the picture exquisite....what do you think? We were to craft snowman out of each finger. Clearly...you can see my fine motor skills are not up to par with my mom's, but I'm working on it!

Go Go Football!

Before getting upset...this is NOT our Steeler's helmet.....it is a friend of ours...yes a dear friend who has been steered in the wrong football direction. In any case, I love football, and my buddy Danny let me try his football helmet on- cool, isn't it? It goes well with the matching yellow snow-plow jammies, too! Just in case you're not sure of where I stand with football teams-
GO E-A-G-L-E-S!

Art Class

Today was our second day of art class. It is a lot of fun, and really stretching me as a budding artist! Today we made a mitten (seen here), hand print snowmen, and a yarn sculpture (to be posted next week after it dries). Our first week we "free" painted...here's what you get from a 2 year old who isn't too much into painting. We're looking forward to the coming weeks to see what art class has in store for us.

BIG Smile!

So for 25 months now we've been trying to get Bradley to smile on cue. He smiles all the time...just not for the camera! He caught a glimpse of himself with a big cheesey grin while looking in the bathroom mirror-and I said "WOW-Look at that big smile!!" Now...whenever I say to him "Show me your big smile..." This is what I get!
